The reigning Masters champion Danny Willett withdrew from the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard this morning due to illness.

He was scheduled to play with Ben Martin and Charl Schwartzel and was replaced by alternate Blayne Barber.

Since this week’s event is an invitational format, the field only has 120 players.

Willett tweeted about his disappointment in having to withdraw from the Arnold Palmer Invitational and that he did not want to take a spot in the field if he would be unable to finish.
